Industry solutions create broader base for SAP reselling partnerships
Waterloo, December 22, 2011 - msg global solutions and OpenText have formed a global partnership to further merge the worlds of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and SAP industry modules. Aimed at banks and insurance companies, the partnership will create new solutions to help customers bring unstructured information in the form of correspondence, contracts, insurance policies and photos into processes such as claims processing or credit applications.
Initial prototypes of the planned joint solutions based on SAP already exist. SAP is a reseller of products from both companies, whose alliance will give the existing reselling agreements a further boost. msg global solutions is part of the corporate group msg systems, which ranks among the top 10 consulting companies in Germany and has expertise in supporting customers who use SAP’s solutions in these markets: SAP for Insurance and SAP for Banking.
"From a processing perspective, separating data and documents makes no sense. Prime examples include claims reports and credit application processing, where data and documents flow together at almost any point in the process. The claims specialists can only be efficient if they have all the information they need at the press of a button – without having to search in different systems and on different interfaces,” said Peter Umscheid, Chief Operating Officer of msg global solutions. “OpenText not only makes this process integration possible on the technical level, but has come up with a brilliant solution compared to other industry solutions."
"The business and SAP development know-how from msg global solutions is well-known among banks and insurance companies. OpenText’s integration depth of the Enterprise Content Management Suite for SAP is unique in the industry," said Patrick Barnert, Vice President, SAP Solutions at OpenText. "Together with msg global solutions, we can deliver what business users and CIOs in the finance and insurance industry have long dreamed of: Process and industry orientation instead of system silos."
In March, both companies presented initial prototypes of a claims file for insurers at the SAP Conference for Financial Services 2011 held in London. "The response to the joint presentation given by OpenText and msg was outstanding," said Peter Keller, Associate Director, Market Center Technology at msg global solutions. "Claims specialists are not only guided through the process step-by-step, but they can move back and forth between OpenText, SAP CRM and SAP for Insurance without interruption.”
The advantages of this integrated and process-oriented solution are numerous. All customer information is easily available, information can be issued comprehensively, competently and authoritatively. The processes are more efficient and effective because there’s no need for time-consuming navigation across multiple repositories. Service quality increases, along with customer loyalty. Claims specialists do not have to leave their trusted work environment and are guided intuitively through the process using the appropriate business language. This minimizes training time and costs and high user acceptance ensures project success. Moreover, process quality is also improved.
Success times three: SAP, msg global and OpenText
Due to the high customer value of these joint industry solutions, msg global and OpenText are expecting more success stories from their existing reselling agreements with SAP. By collaborating with msg global solutions, OpenText can expand and improve its service and support to a global level in the banking and insurance industry. msg global solutions is a platinum partner with OpenText.
