Get It Right the First Time
In our previous post, we discussed the chicken/egg relationship between Big Data and technology, explaining why SAP and NEXONTIS developed SAP PaPM. In this post, we’ll cover the purpose of a pre-defined implementation methodology, its value, and the way in which we can help you with your implementation.
An Implementation Approach Designed for Your Success
When you take on any implementation you want to make sure to follow a tried and tested approach. One that will lead to success in the quickest way possible. If you haven’t guessed by now – msg global can provide that approach. Thanks to our experience with SAP implementations we developed a prebuilt methodology that will increase your overall success with SAP PaPM. This methodology has a proven track record of success. Its repeatable steps reflect mastery of the process and ensure consistency. And it enables all of the participants in the implementation process to be engaged in and to understand each step in that process. There is no black-box, or hidden secrets, we want to leave you with a process you can run with long after we are gone.
Along with our implementation experience, we also have the advantage of knowing SAP PaPM intimately, because we supported the team that developed it. That advantage constitutes knowing the needs of our clients, leveraging the knowledges of the development team, and transferring the knowledge we continue to acquire with our clients. We feel that you can tremendously benefit from this experience.
Learn By Doing to Gain Quick Value
Along with ensuring consistency, the purpose of our implementation approach is to help you quickly deploy SAP PaPM. The samples and templates we provide allow our clients to rapidly ramp up new projects and to scale their own delivery capabilities as their knowledge of SAP PaPM grows. We help you learn by doing so you can develop in-house expertise.
Our approach comprises four phases:
- A description of each phase with corresponding activities and deliverables
- A set of consulting packages with slides, sample documents, and checklists
- A set of estimation and controlling sheets
- A detailed project plan for the first 30 days of the implementation.
Beyond those four phases, we have five SAP Activate steps:
- Prepare – Create a product vision and a high-level project plan
- Explore – Understand requirements and plan releases
- Realize – Build the SAP PaPM framework in boxed sprints
- Deploy – Get users and SAP PaPM ready to run
- Run
By learning from an experienced team you will follow a defined roadmap to success and realize faster results.
About the Platform
The SAP HANA platform that supports SAP PaPM can be deployed on-premise for maximum control. It can be delivered from the cloud for fast time to value. It can also be delivered through a hybrid model that supports a variety of deployment scenarios — from on-premise to cloud to third-party.
About the Development Team
SAP PaPM was developed by Nexontis (a subsidiary of msg) at the request of an insurance-company client that wanted to use the in-memory technology of SAP HANA to analyze allocation contracts at the individual policy Level. Given the success of that project, Nexontis extended the functionality of SAP PaPM to Planning, Transfer Pricing, IT Costing, Activity Accounting, Tax Accounting, Process Mining, Cash Flow Projections, and many other areas.
Our relationship with Nexontis gives us direct and exclusive access to the developers, which can be invaluable if we encounter anything beyond standard implementation challenges.
